I Set My Fears on Fire is a poem of a beautiful moment where I was able to write down all of my fears and throw them into a fireplace. It was absolutely liberating.
I set my fears on fire
The ones held close to my heart
Entwined in the depths of me.
I pulled them out one by one
Pouring out of me like hot sauce
Bringing tears as I wrote on the page.
I ripped them to make them small
Still holding onto them.
Tightly. And there I stood by the fire
Breathing and feeling them out of my body
I set my fears on fire and as I stood there
She said “Be Free.”
Breath in…out
And so it is.
I am free.
